VERSE & VISUALS, THE ART OF THE POEM SPRING HAS SPRUNG AT CATALANO'S ☕! Original short poems by 13 writers, many of them "verse-a-tile" Glen Rock 5th graders, are the centerpiece of a special APRIL 13-30 2026 exhibition at Glen Rock's Catalano Coffee Co., featuring professionally typeset and framed poems on display, intensified with dazzling illustration by local artists. It was a thrill to experience the excitement of youngsters seeing their work professionally printed and on display the way a museum might do it. Our 3rd annual Verse & Visuals event was again chaired by ACGR President Mona Milbrodt, with the talents of the incredible Amanda Marcalus, Stacey Gilmartin, John Blackman, Lisa Hahn, and Suzanne Kaselow. The exhibition is on display until April 30.
Artwork inspired by and integrated into the poems was created by 13 local artists -- for a combined, exciting mixed media exhibition. The poems, set in LARGE print, made layouts both eye-catching and thought-provoking. The Art of the Poem!
