Goals for the coming fiscal year

  1. Increase Member INVOLVEMENT 
           You may have noticed in the video that every event leader was a board member.
  • We're thrilled with the growing level of participation in our events, but now we’d like more members from our ranks - not on the board - to actually run events.  
  • Passionate about something and have an idea? Let us know! You’ll always have a dedicated board member – not to run the project, but who is an ally and champion of your event and will report on it at our board meetings.​
           We want to continue to provide opportunities for artists to expand their visibility and make connections​
  • Board Member Michele Keller is looking at starting quarterly “Small Talks” that invite about 15 artists per session to socialize, network, create
           We want to make it easier to interact with the Board and feel "in the loop" regarding activities and discussions
  • This means having a few meetings in person so that members not only feel welcome to attend, you actually feel included, enlivened, engaged and eager to produce GREAT ART!  Not every meeting - some are for board members only - but we’ll see about specifying some that invite you, our members, to attend.  Check our calendar for updates
2. GRANTS and SPONSORSHIPS
  • Angela Vila (new board member) will be investigating the grants available and how to obtain them.
  • Lisa Hahn (new board member) will be helping event sponsorships take root and developing our sponsorship offers so that sponsors easily understand what they get when they underwrite an Arts Council event or activity.
  • Fortifying these efforts takes the pressure off having membership dues as the only source of income 
3. AIM HIGH
           To compete in a world with so many other forms of entertainment, Art needs to be daring, wonderful, and surprising. Do things that are new, different (for Glen Rock) and just a little risky because they haven’t been done here.
  • If you have an idea, send it to us, or get in touch with one of us. The board has its PLANNING SESSION for 2023-24 EVENTS coming up – Monday, SEPTEMBER 19 – and everything will be open for discussion.​​
  • Tableau Vivant is an event idea that falls into this category - it would be a huge undertaking. 
    It means “Living Pictures” and combines the best of theatrical presentation with artistic talent and creative vision. Volunteers portray large-scale art masterpieces on stage. Each segment is narrated and lasts about 90 seconds, then the stage crew transitions to the next artwork while a live orchestra provides a musical backdrop. The most well-known event is the Pageant of the Masters, which takes place in Laguna Beach, CA.
