Celebrating Earth Day Through Art
GLEN ROCK TEEN ARTS BANNER CONTEST

Happy Earth Day! Next time you stroll downtown, check out the vibrant banners lining Rock Rd (Glen Ave to Main St), designed to raise environmental consciousness. The six banners (chosen from 30 submissions) are winners of a Teen Arts Contest organized by Arts Council member, artist  and GRHS Class of '17 alum Sydney Mangaroo.

Entries ranged from vivid paintings to intricate drawings by students in grades 6-12, appreciating the natural world. “By providing a platform to showcase their talents, Arts Council aims to inspire future generations to engage with environmental issues through the lens of art,” says Sydney.

The banners will stay up until Memorial Day, allowing the community to appreciate the students’ talent and dedication to environmental stewardship.
