January's "Snowscape During a Blizzard," shot by Byron Arnao in East Hampton, was submitted to Smithsonian Magazine's third annual photo contest (2005), where it won in the Natural World category.

"Photography is a creative outlet for what I see when I travel – whether it was around the world, through the country and these days, in my hometown," says Byron, who works in technology operations.

"There are no absolutes, only perceptions, so I strive to show my personal perception in my photography."
