Let’s learn from each other to improve our business situations as artists

2025

Thank you to host Glen Hay and to event runner Stacey Gilmartin for sharing their knowledge and experience at March 24's Think Tank.

Attendees wanted to know where and how to sell. The focus was on licensed goods, distribution, royalties, and surface designers. Everyone received a PDF booklet of topics discussed and resources (Etsy, craft shows to apply to, insurance, payment platforms, and eBay).

Stacey will follow up with notes from the evening and selling options, including consignment, the range of craft shows (low- to high-end and indoor events), trade shows, exhibits, country clubs, and boutiques/pop-ups.

2024

An interactive mentoring session for artists on January 10, 2024 became an active group discussion that helped its 14 participants learn from each other.

Hosted by ACGR's Glen Hay, who came up with THE MENTORING IDEA, and ACGR board member Stacey Gilmartin, who organized the roundtable, the session had each person explain their art and identify what they wished to learn (at this meeting).

The experience and goals of the group ranged from “How to work Etsy” to more aggressive dreams of licensing, branding, and massive retail exposure.

A day after the meeting, Stacey shared a booklet with participants that lists and expands on topics they discussed at the meeting and provides resources.

Glen will be mentoring two artists from the session who requested more guidance.

“Overall, Think Tank provided insight and inspiration,” said Stacey. "Hopefully, ACGR will offer another session this year."
